Subphotonics focuses on biological and pharmaceutical process analysis and control solutions. Its core products include Raman biological process real-time online analyzer, the grand launch of 4-channel system, and the upcoming high-throughput testing system, which can be used for qualitative and quantitative detection and analysis of pharmaceutical and biochemical industrial products, real-time online analysis and feedback control of biochemical process, strain screening, and high-throughput development of processes. The Raman process analyzer adopts an ultra high specificity Raman fingerprint spectrum detection scheme, combined with innovative big data analysis and artificial intelligence AI algorithms, to achieve fast, non-destructive and accurate multi-component simultaneous analysis and high-throughput testing, providing a testing speed of one sample per minute for research and production, eliminating delays, accelerating product development speed and new product launch time, and saving labor costs. Raman analyzer is the main testing tool for Process Analytical Technology (PAT). Subwave photon products can provide real-time data for the research and development of new drugs and biochemical products, as well as the improvement of production processes. It is the most basic tool for improving their production and quality, reducing costs, and achieving intelligent manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical industry.

The 2023 EBC 8th Yimao Biological Production Conference and Yimao Biological Industry Exhibition were grandly opened at the Suzhou International Expo Center from March 17 to 19, 2023. The conference includes four major exhibition halls: technical services, excellent brands, raw materials/reagents/consumables, and instruments and equipment, focusing on multiple popular tracks such as IVD, antibody drugs, cell and gene therapy, and nucleic acid drugs. It gathered many outstanding individuals from biomedical enterprises for in-depth sharing Communication and cooperation.

2023 EBC has attracted over 2W professional visitors from the biopharmaceutical field to participate, from corporate executives to functional department heads, from department managers and supervisors to frontline practical researchers and engineers. The departments cover early research and development, clinical development, process development, commercial production, market access, business expansion, and more. In addition, teachers from over ten leading biopharmaceutical research institutions will lead over a thousand outstanding graduates to participate in the exhibition, injecting more young energy into the biopharmaceutical industry.

Raman process analyzer

The Subwave Photon Single Channel Raman Process Analyzer monitors the fermentation/cell culture process, biochemical reactions, purification, and crystallization processes of a bioreactor through a single probe. The multi-channel Raman analyzer uses the same host to simultaneously monitor up to four parallel bioreactors or four samples.

Real time online analysis and automatic feeding control system for Raman biological processes

The industrial transformation of biopharmaceutical and synthetic biology technologies relies on biological manufacturing and process control technologies, while traditional biochemical manufacturing technologies rely on factory inspections to control product quality, resulting in low yield. Process analysis technology (PAT) ensures quality by timely measuring the key quality and performance characteristics of starting materials, process materials, and processes during the production process. PAT, as an emerging process control technology, has many advantages such as shortening the process development cycle, monitoring product quality, and reducing production costs. Based on real-time monitoring of product quality, enterprises can further deepen their understanding of production processes. With strict process control and quality standards, PAT technology can help enterprises achieve stable product quality and significant increase in production capacity. In the past decade, PAT technology has been applied by major biopharmaceutical companies abroad in the process of research and development and production quality monitoring, achieving good results. The 2022 PAT market report released by Grand View Research indicates that the global PAT market in 2021 was $2 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.2% from 2022 to 2030.

PAT technology relies on online process analysis methods to test process parameters such as chemical composition and temperature dissolved oxygen in bioreactors. How to achieve real-time monitoring of intermediate metabolites (such as glucose, lactate, and ammonium ions) through PAT technology, how to accurately grasp the feeding time, feeding amount, and the time point of poisoning, and how to establish standardized control strategies in the production process are issues of practical concern to the biological industry. At present, PAT mainly uses offline technology, including liquid chromatography and enzyme biosensors, to test process chemical parameters through sampling, which results in slow testing speed and significant delay. Spectral analysis technology is the main means of online analysis due to its no need for sample processing and fast detection speed. Near infrared spectroscopy absorption technology has been applied in this field due to its low cost, but due to the wide absorption spectrum, its quantitative analysis heavily relies on data analysis, requiring a large sample size. Raman spectroscopy is a molecular fingerprint spectroscopy technique, where the Raman peaks of molecules are narrow and easy to identify, while the Raman peaks of water are weak, making it particularly suitable for online analysis of biological processes. In the past decade, due to the reduction in the cost of high-power lasers required for Raman testing, their applications in the biological industry have rapidly increased. PAT analyzers account for the largest share of PAT's annual revenue, with sales revenue of approximately 30% ($670 million in 2022 and $1.7 billion in 2030), and Raman online analyzers will become the mainstream technology for PAT online analysis.

Subphotonics can design and provide Raman solutions corresponding to specific application scenarios based on customers' actual application needs, including rapid incoming inspection of raw materials, fully automatic real-time online analysis and feeding control of various chemical components in bioreactors, real-time online analysis of enzyme catalytic reactions, and automatic control of crystallization processes. In order to reduce usage costs and improve R&D production efficiency, Subphotonicshas specially launched an efficient four channel biological process analysis system at this exhibition, which is suitable for simultaneous control of multiple tanks in parallel reactors and production lines. The parameters that can be tested simultaneously include cell density (bacterial concentration), enzyme activity, chemical potency, various sugars, amino acids, alcohols, acids and esters, proteins and antibodies, as well as inorganic salt ions. At the same time, fully automatic feed feedback control is provided based on online test data and feed strategy.
